- Melted butter for streusel 2 tablespoons
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
Prepare the sweet potatoes: Peel, cut into chunks, and boil until fork-tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain and mash.
Mix the filling: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, brown sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until smooth.
Assemble the casserole: Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly in the greased baking dish.
Choose your topping:
For marshmallow topping: Sprinkle mini marshmallows evenly over the casserole.
For pecan streusel topping: In a small bowl, mix chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, and melted butter. Sprinkle over the sweet potatoes.
